Antony and The Johnsons - Thank You For Your Love

Love this song by Antony. Beautiful, spiritual, graceful. Was reminded of this video after seeing all the lovely gays from Folsom Street Fair. God they're hot, with their greased up bodies in bondage!

The Black Keys

Black Keys - Tighten Up

Black Keys - These Days

Thanks Lib for inspiring this post! ;)

We No Speak Americano - Irish Hand Dancing

Performed and Choreographed by Suzanne Cleary and Peter Harding

This little performance makes me so cheery! :)

M.I.A. and Diplo Song

Listen here M.I.A. and Diplo
Anything M.I.A.  comes out with I'm on it! She's one of those artists, who always stays cool and fresh. Her style is urban, desert, youthful, and adult, cultural and unique. Some don't like her newer sound, more electro punk, but I LIKE it. Check out "XXXO", and "Born Free". She's retreating away from the poppy fad, and mixing more with others. Im digging it.  She goes for that shock value a bit while making you move, and helps keep her fellow artists sounding cool too. She's got a lot of friends! I want to be her friend. Read a snippet and pics from my favorite magazine.

Amazing Strength of Nature

Nature is bad ass. I feel like a nerd. But I think this is cool. Call me a tree hugger, I don't care.

A Thousand Suns - A Global Oneness Project Film

I'd like to offer you some cognitive dissonance, that will hopefully motivate more change in our behaviors. I justify constantly for being a product of this society, however, with all the optimistic and opportunistic views out there in regards to humans and our planet, I'm learning I don't have to be a product or victim of the manufactured world for the entirety of my life. There's much to learn and much to do.

This is fun. Good for me, a little escape from my hectic life. Thanks for the sweet and encouraging responses. It helps, it's pointless really unless others enjoy. So comment, let me know what you are liking. I love sharing, this is fun for me.

With that said, I'm hitting up the Fillmore tonight, to see Local Natives, check out myspace page too . I'm prepared to rock out with a surrounding of plaid, but it's all good. This band is hot, oh and they got some decent songs as well. Check out their video "airplanes". They're playing with Union Line  and The Love Language.

Potrero Hill Community Garden - 1 of 40 in San Francisco

Potrero Garden History

Potrero Goat Lady

A little history of my new San Fran district. This is one of 40 community gardens in our tiny peninsula of a city.

Another great gardening and permaculture community is in Marin, check them out Permaculture Marin.

Athlete turned artist, or artist turned athlete, or recovered artist

Todd Marinovich Art

A once-troubled NFL player shows off his brush skills

Famous failures on the field very rarely experience a phoenix-like rise off of it -- for every Heath Shuler making it to the House of Representatives, there's a Bosworth with a career that stays Stone Cold. Doing something productive without the pigskin, Todd Marinovich and his art.
Thrillist - Todd Marinovich Art
From the very same first round pick whose father famously stretched his hamstrings while he was still in the crib, Todd Marinovich has taken his Fine Arts background and applied it to contemporary acrylic-on-canvas representations, claiming he’s “always been an artist first”, perhaps because it fit better than professional football with his former true passion: sweet, delicious drugs. The unexpectedly artsy pieces don't shy away from athletics, from personal heros like Marcus Allen (his face shrouded in wraith-like darkness and charging at the viewer in full USC uniform) and a squinting Joe Montana (neither wraith-like nor charging), to an outstretched hand lighting upon a football, so..."The Creation of Adam" by the creation of Marv? There're also portraits of esoteric musicians, from a monochromatic purple Leonard Cohen howling into a mic, to a close-up of Nick Cave’s sullen face, to “Tangled up in Green”: an homage to Bob Dylan who, thanks to a hat/emerald color scheme resembles the Wicked Witch, perhaps a parallel inspired by their mutual hatred of Toto.
If you're into personalized steez, Todd'll work up portraits based on submitted photographs, though if you're a famous failure off the canvas, don't expect to look any better on it.

Janelle Monae

Janelle Monae Okay, so I absolutely love her!! We were all talking last night about her and how she's a real musician and how she's bringing back to pop culture soul, sincerity, heart, and talent in a powerful way, which is great news. We've been missing that a bit in the new age of studio artists and "mac book" artists. She's bold, she's real, she's human, all human. She's fucking exquisite. You can see her at the Warfield Oct. 29th in S.F.

Freddie Gibbs- Serve or Get Served, Main Attraktionz - Legion of Doom

Midwest MC Freddie Gibbs is a little pessimistic, but I'm digging it. Check out Main Attraktionz while you're at it.

uuugghhh....

Baby Baby Baby

Cette vidéo démontre la puissance de la musique. J'aime les spectateurs réactions. (Should get my roommate to edit that)

The Roots - Dear God 2.0 Featuring Jim James

The Roots drop some great tracks on their new album, How I Got Over, including Dear God 2.0 featuring Jim James from Monsters of Folk.
Love the words, I feel this song, but we got to stop asking "Why?" Sitting at a diner with colleagues and roommate, a random number was calling me and I was like what if it was God, and we were like, if it was, what would you say, or what would you ask? One said, "Buddha is that you"? One said "Why?" So to prolong the engagement; and some of us agreed that we would just say "Thank You".

Dominique Young Unique- The World Is Mine; Rye Rye- Bang, Shake It To The Ground

Dominique Young Unique  in her new Music Video, The World Is Mine. The World is hers, she's showing up everywhere. Young and fierce 19-year old rapper, she's rising up independently. In an interview with Stereogum, Dominique clears the air, and announces new album release. Check out her songs Show My Ass, and War Talk. She'll be performing with Dirty Projectors September 25 & 26 at The Fillmore.
A few reviews:

"YES, I've ruddy seen her. YES, I've ducked and dodged her richocheting shrapnel-pinging verses. And YES, I'm aware of the fact she's underground booty-bass' best stab at a genuine popstar." - NME
"Her statacco rhymes serve as the track's bedrock rhythm while the production moves
quickly between percussion-only "Lip Gloss" clap to bass-driven 1-3 bop to shimmering new wave. "I'm doin' this right," goes one of the many hooks packed into this short little tune. Pretty much, yeah." - Pitchfork
"With the sexy swagger of Lil Kim, the ghetto credibility of Trina and the spitting skills of Nicki Minaj, it’s impossible to ignore Tampa electro rap queen, Dominique Young Unique" - Dazed and Confused
"The young female rapper everyone is talking about." - RWD

While you're appreciating, also check out Rye Rye. She's been entering the scene too. Loving it! I'm waiting for more songs. But for now shake it to "Shake It To The Ground" w Blaqstarr and bang it to "Bang" with M.I.A. You can see Rye in Oakland at the Fox Theater, Oct. 12.

Delorean- Real Love

I love this, it is relevant because of my current search for a new puppy, hoping the universe brings me another shepherd! It's been many years since my last.

Lykke Li - Solarium

Lykke Li stars in a film by Moses Berkson. I feel the heat of the desert, and the lethargy. I'm thrusted into hypnotic energy and ritualistic creativity.
